The Gathering

God’s Love Unleashed!

By Pastor Leo Benjamin MyFaithNews

On a serene and sunny day in Waterville, Vermont, the faithful gathered at Angela Scott and Dan Fortier’s property for an event that left attendees deeply moved and spiritually enriched. The event, called “The Gathering,” was the culmination of years of prayer and preparation, guided by a vision that Angela believed God had placed on her heart when they first purchased the land.

From the moment they moved to this beautiful area, Angela felt a strong sense that their property was meant to be a place of healing and spiritual renewal. This conviction set her on a journey that led to “The Gathering,” an event designed to bring together people from different churches and walks of life to experience the presence of God in a tangible way.

The Vision Becomes Reality

The idea for “The Gathering” has been developing over the past few years. Angela, with guidance from Pastor Lyle Willey of the Vermont New Hampshire Revival Network, was encouraged to take on a leadership role, even though it felt overwhelming at first. Despite her initial doubts, Angela accepted the call to ministry. She began by leading a Bible study, which eventually led to her preaching and hosting events like this one. In March 2024, she was officially licensed as a pastor.

On August 24th, 2024, after much prayer and planning, “The Gathering” became a reality. More than 60 people from various churches in the area attended, with many more unable to attend due to other commitments. The atmosphere was charged with anticipation as the day began with heartfelt prayer, setting the tone for what was to come.

A Day of Worship, Baptism, and Healing

The event featured various activities, including worship music that resonated deeply with all who attended. The property, with its beautiful river and open fields, provided a perfect backdrop for the day’s events. A particular highlight was the baptism ceremony, held in the river that runs through the property.

Angela, having never performed baptisms before, was guided by Pastor Lyle’s instructions, Luke Willey, and the Holy Spirit. The ceremony was intimate yet powerful, with Angela’s brother-in-law and a woman with spina bifida being baptized. The sight of the community gathered around, cheering and celebrating these baptisms was nothing short of inspiring.

An Invitation to Faith

As the day drew to a close, Dan invited anyone who felt called to come forward and give their life to Christ. A young girl responded, stepping forward in faith, marking another beautiful moment in a day filled with God’s presence.

Another significant aspect of the event was the participation of members from the local Waterville Union Church, a congregation that traditionally leans towards more conservative worship. Their presence and participation in the healing tent, a feature of the event, was a testament to the unifying power of the Holy Spirit at work.

A Humble Beginning with a Promising Future

Angela’s humility and openness about her journey resonated with many in attendance. Despite feeling unqualified at times, she has embraced her role as a liaison between different churches, bringing together believers from various backgrounds to unite in worship and fellowship. This event was a clear manifestation of her calling, and the feedback from attendees has been overwhelmingly positive, with many asking when the next gathering will be held.

In the end, “The Gathering” was not just an event but the beginning of something much larger. Angela and Dan’s property has become a beacon of faith in Waterville, a place where the body of Christ can come together, worship, and experience the healing presence of Jesus Christ. As one attendee put it, “The Lord moved mightily, and we are all eager to see where He leads us next.”

Conclusion

The success of “The Gathering” is a testament to the power of faith and obedience. Angela’s journey from doubt to confidence in her calling inspires all who attend. As Angela and Dan continue to host events and foster community, it is clear that their property will remain a place of spiritual renewal for years to come.
