BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Governor Phil Scott recently proclaimed March as Problem Gambling Awareness Month, an effort to elevate public awareness regarding problem gambling and to promote prevention, treatment, and recovery services.
It comes as Vermont earlier this year launched online sports betting and neighboring New York is considered a likely candidate to start offering internet casino games soon.
We spoke with Kelley Klein with the Department of Mental Health, who is leading the state’s charge on problem gambling initiatives.
