Three Needs Tap Room hosts debate watch party

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A number of voters in Burlington went downtown to watch the presidential debate Thursday night.

Three Needs Tap Room in Burlington hosted a watch party of the debate, and Burlingtonians were glued to the screen as the two candidates went head to head during the first debate between President Biden and President Trump since 2020.

While many patrons were too enthralled with the debate to talk with us, we caught up with one viewer during a break, who said they tackled the issues he hoped would be discussed.

“Actually, they’ve covered pretty much everything I was hoping they would, especially around January 6th. I actually just moved to Vermont two years ago and before that, I was living in Arlington, Virginia just outside of D.C., and I have friends that were terrified because they were people living in D.C. and they were literally blocks away from what was going on at the capitol,” said viewer Danny Gibney.

The next presidential debate will take place on September 10th.
