Relatives, friends and neighbors of a Danville family that lost two young children in a car accident Saturday morning have pledged almost $37,000 in support.
A page on the Support Now platform shows $36,247 had been pledged as of 9:40 AM Wednesday morning towards a $45,000 goal.
As reported by VDC Sunday, June 14, State Police say a Toyota Corolla, operated by Jonathan Ross, 38, of Danville, was traveling south on Vermont Route 14 when it failed to negotiate a curve, crossed the center line, and entered the northbound lane of travel. At the same time, a pickup truck operated by Harry Dailey, 60, of Woodbury, was traveling north on Route 14. The two vehicles collided head-on in the northbound lane.
Oliviah (age 8) and Rylin (age 2), daughters of Jon and Chelsea Ross, were both secured in the back seat of the car. They were pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Ross remains hospitalized at Dartmouth-Hitchcock hospital in New Hampshire. Both Dailey and a passenger in his truck also were hospitalized.
